Description
The complaint alleges violations by House Republican Organizational Committee (HROC), a caucus political committee registered with the PDC and comprised of Republican members of the Washington State House of Representatives, of RCW 42.17A.225 by failing to report campaign contributions.
An enforcement hearing was held on December 7, 2017, before the Full Commission, to address PDC staff allegations that HROC violated RCW 42.17A.235 and 42.17A.240 by failing to timely disclose $85,000 in monetary contributions made to seven 2016 candidates for State Representative, and one bona-fide political party organization on the 2016 Post-Primary Election Summary Campaign Contribution and Expenditure reports (C-4 reports).
At the December 7, 2017 enforcement hearing, the Commission voted 5-0 to accept the Stipulation as to Facts, Violations, and Penalty between HROC and PDC staff, in which HROC acknowledged violating RCW 42.17A.235 and 42.17A.240
by failing to timely disclose
$85,000 in monetary
contributions made to 2016 candidates for State Representative, and one bona-fide political party organization on C-4 reports.
HROC is assessed a total civil penalty of $10,000, that is to be paid within 30 days of the entry of the Final Order. In addition, HROC is required to amend its 2017 C-4 reports to accurately reflect the assets and expenditures of the caucus political committee.
