This dataset contains records indicating the employment of lobbyist firms by entities that employ lobbyists. Each record represents a registration by the lobbyist firm and employer (client) for one year.
In some cases, the lobbyist firm may have been hired as a subcontractor by another firm to lobby on behalf of their clients. In these cases, refer to the contractor fields to determine the lobbyist firm that has hired the subcontractor.
This data set contains only records for 2016 and later. For records prior to 2016, please see the data set, "Pre-2016 Lobbyist Employment Registrations"
Each record provides links to document providing detailed information about the lobbyist firm, employer and nature of the employment.
This dataset is a best-effort by the PDC to provide a complete set of records as described herewith and may contain incomplete or incorrect information. The PDC provides access to the original reports for the purpose of record verification.

| contractor_id | text | The PDC identifier for the lobbyist firm who hired this subcontractor. This ID is consistent even if the lobbyist firm name changes. This field is only used when this lobbyist firm is a subcontractor hired by another lobbyist firm. |
| contractor_name | text | The lobbyist firm who hired this lobbyist as a subcontractor. For example, ACME hired the lobbyist firm LobCo and LobCo hired LobGuy to work for ACME. The record will indicate LobGuy as the lobbyist firm, ACME as the employer and LobCo as the contractor. This field is only used when this lobbyist firm is a subcontractor hired by another lobbyist firm. |
| contractor_url | url | The URL to view information about the lobbyist firm who hired this lobbyist firm as a subcontractor. This field is only used when this lobbyist firm is a subcontractor hired by another lobbyist firm. |
| employer_id | text | The PDC identifier for the lobbyist employer. This ID is consistent even if the lobbyist employer name changes. |
| employer_name | text | The name of this lobbyist employer. If the name changes it will be updated for all records. |
| employer_url | url | The URL to view information about this lobbyist employer. |
| employment_url | url | The URL to view the employment registration. |
| employment_year | number | The year this lobbyist was employed by the employer. When a lobbyist is employed by the same employer for multiple years, there will be one record for each year employed. |
| id | text | Unique identifier for a row. |
| lobbyist_id | text | The PDC identifier for this lobbyist firm. This ID is consistent even if the lobbyist firm name changes. |
| lobbyist_name | text | The name of this lobbyist firm. If the name changes it will be updated for all records. |
| lobbyist_url | url | The URL to view information about the lobbyist. |
| report_number | text | The PDC identifier for the registration of this lobbyist to be employed by the employer. This ID is consistent even if the lobbyist firm or employer name changes. |
